My World: The Fastest Leaf-Blower on the Plateau

BetsyLeaf

Betsy using the leaf blower in the back yard.

This is my post for the My World meme.  It is hosted by Klaus, Ivar, Sandy, Wren, Louise and Fishing Guy.  To learn more about our world or to join and share your part of the world, click HERE.

Betsy and I have definite responsibilities around the house.  I mow the lawn and Betsy sweeps the deck.  I dig the holes to plant the roses and Betsy cleans and fills the bird baths.  I have, on occasion, both swept the deck and taken care of the bird baths.  But there is one job I would never dream of taking from Betsy — using the leaf blower.

As you can see from the picture above, Betsy is a pro at using the leaf blower.  Once she fires that thing up the leaves don’t have a chance.  There’s rarely a stray left on the ground once she finishes.

The front yard is the hardest for us to do since we have to bag or carry away those leaves.  The back yard is much easier, so Betsy usually blows the other leaves in that direction.

And why is the back yard so much easier than the front yard?

The back yard is adjacent to the golf course and those nice maintenance men have some wonderful equipment.  I guess they are Betsy’s secret weapon.

I left a message for Betsy but George you guys need to muclch those leaves. Much easier. LOL I am the one who does the blowing of the leaves also. I have a backpack blower I use and let me say its a beast. You know we work in a housing addition that backs up to a golf course, always find golf balls in the lawn.

You two make such a “terrific” duo…

I will remember to never stand in the way of Betsy and her blower!!! So funny how we acquire our ‘jobs’ around the house. I can’t wait till Coach retires, so I can give him some home duties. Right now his are limited to feeding the snake!!!

  4. Susie Says:

Wish we had a golf course crew to clean up our backyard.

The rain, the wind, the warmth, and now it’s because Betsy does such a good job. You don’t have me fooled for a minute, George. You just don’t like raking leaves now do you?

  6. Fishing Guy Says:

George: What a fun trip to the glade and a good clean-up job for sure.

Leaves–Please!!! Send Betsy out this way. I have about a foot deep of leaves in the front of the house. I think they are pretty though and I compost them and use them in the gardens. MB

What a team you two are!
My leaf blower is rechargeable. So I get lots of breaks in between. ha!

You two are a great team, working well together for sure. Betsy looks as if she is indeed on a mission! And how lucky to have a nice maintenance crew help you out! You have a beautiful yard.

She really MUST be a pro, doing it one handed! WoW!

  12. Karen Says:

I am impressed with Betsy and her leaf blowing capabilities. When I try to use one the only thing I accomplish is blowing the leaves all over the place! 🙂

Can I hire you George to come and do my garden.lol

  14. Karin Says:

If I had a yard and lots of trees I’d be the one blowing leaves too!! We, too, have our own unique division of labor, lol! Betsy sure looks ready to do battle!

  15. Neal Says:
