Watery Wednesday # 67: Bald River Falls

Bald River Falls, Tellico Plains, Tennessee. July 3, 2007.

This is my post for Watery Wednesday.  To see more of our beautiful watery world, or to join and post your own pictures to share, click HERE.

Tennessee is blessed with many waterfalls, and one of the most impressive in southeastern Tennessee is Bald River Falls.  Bald River drops 80 to 100 feet as it nears the Tellico River.  The falls can be seen from the bridge where Tellico River Road crosses Bald River, but there is a parking area nearby.  I got this picture by walking back to the bridge after parking the car.

Tellico River Road follows the Tellico River for about five miles from the Cherohala Skyway near Tellico Plains, Tennessee.  The river itself offers many wonderful views for future editions of Watery Wednesday.

I’ll have to look that one up because I’ve never been to that one. I’ll bet that I’ve been close and just didn’t know it.

I wish we had as many water falls here. I would love getting to explore like you and Betsy.

A very beautiful falls , George. I like the way it looks like it just meanders but an 80 ft drop is quite a ways. MB

We looked at some of your waterfall pictures and was very interested but I can’t find directions to them anywhere! We hike as often as we can to photograph waterfalls and always get excited when we find new ones, so if you can help us out we would love it. The falls were to list a few: Escarpment Falls, Robert Falls, Baltusrol Falls, and Upper/Lower Fall Creek cascade in Ozone Tn. We have been to Ozone Falls but not the place where you mentioned. If you had rather not give out the information then at least please e-mail us and let us know so I will know you recieved this.
