Skywatch Friday: We Found Spring

Blue Sky and Bradford Pears, Hendersonville, Tennessee.

This is my post for Skywatch Friday, a meme for sharing views of the sky from all over the world.  To see more, or to join and share your own photos of the sky, click HERE.

Yesterday Betsy and I went to Hendersonville to see my parents.  They are about as good as can be expected and we had a nice visit with them.

But in addition to seeing my parents, we also found Spring!  We live on the Plateau here in Tennessee while Hendersonville is in the ‘Nashville Bowl’.  What that means is that our house is about 1500 feet higher than my parents house.

When we left yesterday morning there were no Bradford Pears blooming here in the Glade and the Forsythia was just starting to bud out.  By the time we got off the Plateau we were seeing Bradford Pear trees in bloom all over the place.  We were also seeing blue skies, as in the photo above.

We also found Forsythia in bloom.  What a difference 1500 feet can make!

Our Prius is not a large car, but we did our best to bring Spring back up the Plateau with us.  I can hardly wait to see what today brings!

You did indeed find spring, George! What delightfully beautiful captures and lovely colors! They’re wonderful to see aren’t they? Particularly after a long winter! Love the pear tree! We have a very small one in our yard that is just beginning to bud. Wishing you a very Happy Easter weekend! Enjoy!

I love the combination of the pear tree and the sky. I was writing Betsy that we are about a half hour from Charlottesville, but it’s over the mountain and usually four degrees warmer. Spring always springs earlier there, so that is our Hendersonville.

Beautiful Spring captures, George. I’ll have to go look for a Bradford Pear. All I’ve seen around here are the Serviceberry trees. But our forsythia are in full bloom.

I can imagine how greatly you must be welcoming the SPRING season!!

  17. Judy Says:

Good heavens! That forsythia is starting to leaf out already! Mine just came into full bloom yesterday! I love the pear tree against the sky!!

  18. Mary Says:

Your Henderson seems to have about the same amount of color as we do. I was so glad to come home to all this color. Those forsythia and pears are really pretty. My forsythia never bloom much….probably because I don’t trim them back much.
