Down Memory Lane: Serenity Falls

We’ve been having showers and thunderstorms off and on over the past several days.  While that means that the weeds are winning in all of the flower beds, it has given me time to work on some pictures that have never been properly posted.

One folder contained pictures taken at Serenity Falls back in March, 2009.  We discovered Serenity Falls in the autumn of 2008 when we were visiting waterfalls around Cosby, Tennessee, on ‘the quiet side of the Smokies’.

At Serenity Falls we found a beautiful waterfall as well as some rental cabins.  One of the cabins was right at the base of the waterfall.  That, of course, was too big a temptation for Betsy and me, so we just had to book a few nights at Serenity Falls.

These pictures were from our first stay at Serenity Falls.  We enjoyed it so much that we went back in March of this year as well.  It’s hard to imagine a more relaxing place to stay.

I remember when you two found the cabin by the falls. I love the collage that you have created. The picture of you and Betsy is such a treasure – such happy smiles.

I can imagine how nice it was to stay by the base of the falls. It looks so beautiful there.

George would you mind e-mailing your address. I would like to send Betsy a card. If you are uncomfortable doing so, that’s no problem.

What a gorgeous place and to stay at the foot of the falls. Perfect for a couple of waterfallers. MB

Oh how I wished I lived closer to visit this place and certainly stay in the beautiful cabin you and Betsy had. I don’t think I have ever seen a lovelier place than there.

  5. Rose Says:

Oh, my. I do think this has to be my favorite of the falls you have shown. What a gorgeous place. I would not want to leave that cabin!

Absolutely gorgeous — and you couldn’t have gotten any closer! Imagine going to sleep with that wonderful sound in the background!

I still remember you and Betsy writing about your first visit there! Cool! It does sound like the most idyllic spot to just kick back and de-stress! How lovely! Hope Betsy gets well enough with her knee so you can resume some of your nature outings! Meanwhile, taking a sabbatical might be what you need! Sorry about all those weeds – if they are sopping wet from the rain they pull out easier, don’t they! Be blessed!

It’s really hard to resist a cabin near the falls. I bet you both had a great time then.

Regards to Betsy and I hope she’s doing well.

Last year we had so much rain that we didn’t get to add new mulch to any of the beds, it all washed away and as a result it looked like no one lived here!! It was just awful!
