Down Memory Lane: Niagara Falls

Betsy and I got to Niagara Falls several months late.  Although we were married in June, 2001, we didn’t get to Niagara Falls until August, 2002.

Since we ‘collect’ waterfalls, it was almost certain that we would eventually get to Niagara Falls.  We drove up to Canada and stayed on the Canadian side of the border while we took in the sights along the Niagara River.  I had been to Niagara Falls twice before, but this trip was the first for Betsy.

I don’t think pictures (or words) can ever adequately describe the majesty and beauty of Niagara Falls.  That didn’t stop us from trying.

Beautiful. That is one place we’ve never been. I don’t know why we’ve never made it there but we’ll have to do it one of these days.

We were in Niagara Falls on August 27, 2002 🙂 We were on the American side, though, not the Canadian side. We visited the falls with Leo, our exchange student from Brazil.

I’ve been a few times. You just have to be there to appreciate all the beauty and you just can’t get the power and the noise from a picture.
You have taken some awesome pictures too though!!

Although your photos are magnificent, I agree with you that nothing can capture the power of those falls except standing beside them, and even then it’s hard to grasp!

The photos of the Falls makes me think of summer! It was in the 20s here today and even colder temps predicted for tomorrow, so the Falls make me think of summertime.

Beautiful pictures! If you haven’t already been, there’s a great hike along 19 waterfalls in Watkins Glen State Park (not as grand as Niagara, of course, but still stunning). By the southern tip of Seneca Lake in New York (Finger Lakes region).
