My World: Iris in Bloom

Honey Glaze Iris, Fairfield Glade, Tennessee. April 22, 2011.

This is my post for the My World meme.  It is hosted by Klaus, Ivar, Sandy, Wren, and Fishing Guy.  To learn more about our world or to join and share your part of the world, click HERE.

We were down to one lonely tulip in the front yard, but then the iris started blooming and we are once again enjoying beautiful blossoms.  The first iris to bloom was Honey Glazed, which is shown above.

Blatant Iris, Fairfield Glade, Tennessee. April 22, 2011.

It would be hard for me to pick a favorite, but this one — Blatant — would certainly be in the running.

Clarence Iris, Fairfield Glade, Tennessee. April 23, 2011.

Another iris that is blooming is Clarence.

All three of these are re-blooming iris, so if Mother Nature cooperates we’ll have another show in October.

I love iris. We planted a few of them two years ago. We got blooms last year. Then the gopher attack happened. Glad to see this year that one plant has survived the attack and has gifted us with a lovely purple bloom.

    Happy belated Easter sunday.

Nice to see something other than the rain we are having here! Our first thunderstorm of the season!
I have to agree with you that it is hard to choose one iris as being better than all the others! I have not seen any of these three before!
